Published ten times a year by the 1st of the month of issue, posted online and distributed to homes throughout Thornbury. An A5 full-colour magazine, it contains articles, items on News Around and a comprehensive listing of What's On each month. The quality of its presentation and content guarantee it a place on the coffee table or kitchen worktop, where it provides a handy source of local trades and services.
First published in May 1979 as a joint venture by the churches in Thornbury, the Magazine has since gone from strength to strength. We are a 'not for profit' community enterprise, registered as a private company, in receipt of no grants, entirely funded by our advertisers and staffed by volunteers.
Our potential readership is over 10,000 and growing.
Thornbury Magazine respects your privacy and complies with the General Data Protection Regulations. To see how we protect information about our volunteers read our Data Protection Notice.
We are ever mindful of our impact on the environment and what more we might do to reduce our footprint. We take all reasonably practicable steps to minimise waste and encourage sustainability as described in our Environmental Impact Statement.
We consider the health and safety of our volunteers to be of great importance and take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure safe working environments. Steps to manage hazards are included in our Health and Safety Policy.
We take precautions to ensure that the hazard to our volunteers and others in the community posed by Covid-19 and other viruses is as low as reasonably practicable. The steps we take are described in Covid-19 Precautions - latest. They are reviewed prior to each distribution to ensure that we are complying with the latest government guidance.
